He said, "The Coimbatore Police department has been functioning exceptionally well during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even a small mistake can undo all the good we have done. Therefore it is important that we tread carefully in the days to come."
"All the policemen in the district have been functioning well and they should continue to do so. The spread of COVID-19 is still minimal. Policemen who experience any symptoms of COVID-19 should get themselves tested. This must be done not to just take care of ourselves, but in consideration of the health of others as well.
Some are scared to undergo tests, however, there is no reason to be scared. They should come forward to test themselves voluntarily and isolate themselves in case the test turns positive", he added.
"Policemen should interact openly with the officials and perform their duties with moral responsibility and patience. The month of July will be crucial. Department vehicles should be disinfected daily and safety measures must be undertaken. Because of our commitment to COVID precaution and eradication, we have been gaining appreciation from the public. Those who are involved in vehicular inspections for the prevention of COVID-19 must be more tolerant," said the commissioner.
He expressed appreciation to everyone. Following this, he distributed face masks.
Deputy Commissioner (L&O) Balaji Saravanan, Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner Uma and Transport Deputy Commissioner Mutharasan were also present. Many cops including Inspectors and Sub Inspectors participated in the event.
