Coimbatore: A man has been imprisoned for harassing his wife while their divorce case is pending. Chandran (37) hails from Krishnapuram Medu Coimbatore. He married Hemapriya, 28, from Goldwins in 2013 and the couple have a six-year-old son.

Chandran is said to have mistreated his wife from the day they got married. Frustrated by this, Hemapriya has returned home with her son. When Chandran's relatives visited Hemapriya's home on June 8 to see the child, there was an argument following which she lodged a complaint at the Peelamedu Police Station.
Her husband Chandran, who came to her house yesterday, had threatened her with abusive words and asked for the child. Hemapriya filed a complaint based on which Chandran was interrogated by the Peelamedu police and later jailed.
