Valparai merchants pay homage to father-son duo who died in Sathankulam
Coimbatore: Valparai merchants paid homage to the father-son duo traders who died Santhakulam. A tearful tribute ceremony was held for the deceased traders.
The father-son duo were businessmen who died mysteriously while in police custody after being arrested in a dispute with police at Sathankulam in Thoothukudi district.

Wreaths, candles and floral tributes were made to trader Jeyaraj, the father and son Fenix. The Valparai Traders' Association executives demanded that the Tamil Nadu government pay a compensation of Rs. 2 crores by collecting the amount from the cops allegedly involved in the death and take strict action against them.
The event was attended by a large number of merchants, including association executives Kusalavan, Treat Jebaraj, Shaju, Shanmugam, Ravi Lalu. Shops in the Valparai area have been asked to down their shutters tomorrow, in protest of the deaths.
