COVID-19 - Tirupur Collector announces helpline numbers to report quarantine violators

The Tirupur District Collector K. Vijayakarthikeyan has shared the COVID-19 quarantine helpline numbers for Tirupur residents to report regarding people arriving from other places and quarantine violators.

Tirupur: The Tirupur District Collector K. Vijayakarthikeyan has shared the COVID-19 quarantine helpline numbers for Tirupur residents to report regarding people arriving from other places and quarantine violators.

The Tirupur District Collector has shared the helpline numbers for people to report if anyone is found violating quarantine after travelling from another district or state. Informing this, the District Collector said, "The District Administration has requested for people violating quarantine to be reported to 0421-2971199 or 0421-2971133. Upon receiving information, the home quarantine list can be verified and matched and it will help us monitor returnees. The public can report the new arrivals in their neighbourhoods. As many people keep arriving, despite stringent checks and measures at the borders, without the knowledge of the District Administration, public information regarding new entrants would be vital ."

He further said, "As it has been insisted always, wear face masks whenever you step out, for your own safety and the safety of others. Those without face masks will be penalised. Step out only for essential reasons. Maintain social distancing whenever you step out and do not crowd in places."

He also insisted not to spread rumours and said, "Don’t forward something that you don't know for sure on social media. Official update is available as provided by the District Administration regarding the travel histories and contact histories of the COVID-19 positives. Do share only official news as rumours create fear and panic. With the help of doctors, nurses, other medical staff and social activists, we have worked hard to reach this place", and he requested for the assistance of the people to help check the spread of COVID-19.
