Under the Smart City scheme lakes in the Coimbatore Corporation are being renovated. The Kurichi lake renovation work was inaugurated by the Minister for Municipal Administration S.P. Velumani today.
The project involves the development of the 334 acre lake bank with recreational facilities, fitness equipment, and development of a cycling pathway for 5.5 kms. A walking area is being planned too. Decorative arches at four different places are being set up and 47 snack/other shops on the banks of the lake will be set up both on the Palakkad Road and the Pollachi Road sides.
