These wild elephants have also been blocking the roads causing traffic disruption and scaring the pedestrians.

They also broke down the house of Ramakrishnan in the Kurinjinagar area while his wife Thavamani and two children screamed in fright. The neighbours who heard their cries rushed to help and tried to drive the elephants away. However, they could not do so. The Cherampaadi Forest Ranger Chinnathambi and other forest workers arrived on the scene and shooed the elephants away.
The residents of the area have therefore requested for theseelephants to be driven into the deep forests as they continue to venture out into the residential areas and scare the people and also destroy plantations.
