Senniyappa Gounder and Karunaiammal of Rayarpalayam in Palladam have a son and daughter, who are both married. The son allegedly took over 2.33 acres of land that belonged to his father, illegally, in 2007. It is also alleged that he does not take care of his parents after that and had sent them away from their house.
The couple further alleged that they had complained regarding this to the police station and at the District Collectorate previously, but no action has been taken regarding that.
The couple further said that the administration should take some measures to retrieve their property as they have lost their livelihood. They also suggested that they be granted permission to undergo euthanasia if nothing else can be done to improve their lives.
They submitted a petition to this effect at the Tirupur District Collectorate.
