COVID-19: Two new cases in Coimbatore, five in Nilgiris, none in Tirupur: Humongous record single day tally of 2174 in TN
Chennai: Tamil Nadu registered a humongous record single day tally of 2174. While the tally dove down a tad bit yesterday, it has risen to himalayan proportions again today to the dismay of many. This has swiftly pushed the overall count across the 50,000 mark. A ginormous 50,193 positives have been recorded in to till date in the State since the onset of the pandemic.
Keeping in line with the trend of reigning as the major COVID hotbed, Chennai registered a whopping 1274 positives today.Meanwhile, a total of 898 cases from various districts in the State has been recorded for the day.
With 48 deaths today (10 private, 38 govt), the State COVID toll has risen to 576.
As per the State health bulletin, 2 new cases have been reported today in Coimbatore bringing the district tally to 187. While the Nilgiris district recorded five new cases, Tirupur registered none.
On the brighter side, 824 patients were discharged across the State today, post recovery. The total of patients who have been treated successfully and discharged stands at 27624
