COVID-19: 31 new cases in Coimbatore including 10 positive cases directly related to deceased COVID patient from RG Pudur

Of the 31 positives, 10 cases categorised as 'high risk patients' are direct contacts with the 28-year-old man who passed away recently due to COVID at ESI hospital. The others predominantly include travellers train/air from Chennai and Arakkonam.

Details of 31 new COVID cases:

Patient 1: A 45-year-old male from Sulur who was tested positive for COVID after he presented with influenza symptoms at Coimbatore GH.

Patient 2: A 32-year-old female from Selvapuruam who was tested positive for COVID after she presented with influenza symptoms at Coimbatore GH.




Patient 3: A 28-year-old female from Podanur who was tested positive for COVID after she presented with influenza symptoms at Coimbatore GH.

Patient 4: A 20-year-old healthcare worker from Thudiyalur tested positive at a private lab.

Patient 5: A 36-year-old male from Selvapuram. Termed as HIGHRISK contact of a Mumbai traveller.

Patient 6: A 42-year-old male from Sulur with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.

Patient 7: A 41-year-old male from Edayalarpalyam with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.

Patient 8: A 60-year-old male from Pollachi with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.

Patient 9: A 54-year-old male from Racecourse road with travel history to Chennai to Coimbatore.




Patient 10: A 50-year-old male from NGGO colony with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.




Patient 11: A 48-year-old male from Sulur with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.

Patient 12: A 18-year-old female from Sulur with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.




Patient 13: A 28-year-old female from Somaiyampalayam with travel history from Chennai to Coimbatore.

Patient 14: A 24-year-old male from Sanganoor who was tested positive for COVID after he presented with influenza symptoms at a private hospital.




Patient 15: A 51-year-old female from Sirumugai who was tested positive for COVID after she presented with influenza symptoms.

Patient 16: A 74-year-old female from Vadavalli who was tested positive for COVID after she presented with influenza symptoms.

Patient 17: A 46-year-old male from Peelamedu with travel history from Aarokonam to Coimbatore Train.

Patient 18: A 13-year-old male from Peelamedu with travel history from Aarokonam to Coimbatore Train.

Patient 19: 34-year-old female from PN Palayam categorised as HIGHRISK contact of COVID Positive case.

Patient 20: A 54-year-old female from RG Pudur, Chinniyampalayam post, categorised as HIGHRISK contact of deceased COVID positive case.




Patient 21: A 14-year-old female from RG Pudur, Chinniyampalayam post, categorised as HIGHRISK contact of deceased COVID positive case.

Patient 22: A 65-year-old female from RG Pudur, Chinniyampalayam post, categorised as HIGHRISK contact of deceased COVID positive case.

Patient 23: A 34-year-old male from RG Pudur, Chinniyampalayam post, categorised as HIGHRISK contact of deceased COVID positive case.
