Mangement of Pvt engineering college forcing us to go on door-to-door canvassing, allege faculty members
Coimbatore: A faculty of a private engineering college situated in the outskirts of the city has petitioned to All India Private Colleges Empolyees Union (AIPCEU), accusing the college management of forcing staff to go on a door-to-door canvassing for fresh admissions for the academic year.
The complainant along with other faculty members of Arjun College of Technology located on Negamam road, have also submitted evidence of their allegations, which notifies of the areas allotted to each faculty under the admission campaign.
AIPCEU has informed that with the lockdown 5.0 in place until June 30 and the COVID-19 cases in the city increased to 175 as of June 14, Arjun College of Technology which is a part of Arjun Education Trust has defied the lockdown norrms.
As per the allegations of the faculty, the management and Principal Gurulingam have acted against government norms by forcing faculty members to engage in campaign to emrol new admissions.
They requested that the Revenue Department, Anna University, Education department, and the Police should initiate an immediate probe in the issue. They also requested the State higher studies department for private institutions to issue SOPs to prevent such banned activities by the colleges.
