A xerox shop that sold forged E-passes in Sulur has been sealed by the Sulur Tahsildar.
Coimbatore: A xerox shop that sold forged E-passes in Sulur has been sealed by the Sulur Tahsildar.
Manivannan of Kannampalayam who wanted to obtain an E-pass for travelling to Virudhunagar applied for it at a shop named Sulur Xerox in front of the Sulur Tahsildar's office. On receiving an E-pass, he used it to travel to Virudhunagar. At Virudhunagar, the police who were involved in vehicle checks identified it as a forged document.
The Virudhunagar Revenue officials further informed this to the Coimbatore District administration. Following this information, the Sulur Tahsildar Meena Kumari inspected the xerox shop. During investigation it was revealed that the shop did indeed sell forged E-passesto the public.
Subsequently, the shop was sealed.
A case has been filed against the owner of the xerox shop, Balu, who has absconded. Police are on the lookout for him. Many people visit the shop even now to get E-passes without the knowledge that it has been shut down and take off when they find the shop has been sealed..
