Two forest department employees stung by poisonous beetles in Valparai
Coimbatore: Two forest employees sustained injuries from stings of poisonous beetles in Valparai. Forest Department anti-poaching guards were on patrol at the Ryan Division area of Manampalli Forest Reserve under Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Valparai, Coimbatore.
As they crossed a dense forest area, poisonous beetles that had been nesting in the bushes nearby, flew in and attacked them, unexpectedly. They fled the area immediately.
Narayanan aged 29 and Aravind aged 27 were injured. Upon information, forest department officials rushed for their rescue and brought them to the Valparai Government hospital for treatment.
They were then sent to Pollachi Government Medical Center by 108 ambulance for further treatment. The incident caused a stir in the area.
