Coimbatore: The Former State President of the BJP C.P. Radhakrishnan accused the DMK supporters as the reason for the spread of COVID-19. He also said that his party supports the TN government's decision to not open places of worship right now.
C.P. Radhakrishnan met the press at the BJP office on VKK Menon road in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. Speaking to them he said, "PM Modi has always had great regards and respect for the culture of TN. He approved 11 Government colleges in the state, in a single year. The wages for the 100-day employment plan were increased from Rs.180 to Rs.200. The government's plan to provide Rs.6,000 to farmers annually has benefitted 9.5 crore farmers", he informed.
Talking about the other schemes being provided by the government, he said, "Rs.3 lakh crores has been allocated to MSMEs and loans amounting to Rs.145 crores have been provided to MSMEs in Coimbatore in the first week of June alone."
Questioning the Communist party, he said, "The Kerala government has been blocking the supply of Siruvani water to Coimbatore and the Communists are not even in a position to question it. The Central government wishes that the state governments try to settle the Siruvani water issue in an amicable manner", and further said, "The Central Government's plan is to bring the price of petrol and diesel under the GST with the support of the State governments."
"The free electricity being provided to farmers will never be cancelled and the news about the cancellation of free electricity to farmers is a false propaganda by the DMK", he accused.
Regarding the spread of COVID-19, he said, "The statistics regarding the death rates were faulty by a very small number and the TN government accepted its mistake and rectified the error. The spread of COVID-19 in TN was increased by the DMK supporters who participated in the Jamath conference. However, why are the opposition parties hesitant to say this? ", he questioned.
"The opposition parties should not stand against the good measures being implemented by the government. Instead they can point out the mistakes of the government and welcome the good measures being implemented by them. It is the government that should decide regarding the reopening of places of worship and due to the spread of COVID-19 in the state the TN government has decided not to reopen them. Our party welcomes this decision", he said.
