COVID-19: Five new cases in Coimbatore, two in Tirupur, and three in the Nilgiris
Coimbatore: Five cases have been reported today in Coimbatore bringing the district tally to 180. With two and three cases reported in Tirupur and The Nilgiris districts, the totals there have risen to 117 and 17, respectively.
Five persons including three women tested positive for COVID-19 in Coimbatore district on Tuesday. A 23-year-old woman from Ganapathy, 69-year-old man from Vellakinar, and 30-year-old woman from Karamadai tested positive for the disease. A 60-year-old man from Marudhamalai area and a 44-year-old woman from Trichy, who flew into the city also have tested COVID positive.
A total of 43 persons who arrived at Coimbatore via various flights have tested positive so far with 23 of them landing in the month of May and 20 this month.
A total of 10,043 passengers have arrived in the city from various districts, states and nations at Coimbatore from May 25 till date.
According to the State Health Department bulletin, 5 passengers from Dubai and 4 from Muscat are international carriers that tested positive after landing here.
