COVID-19: COVID positives in TN surge to 46,504; highest single-day death toll of 44 today


Chennai: Chennai continues to top the list of COVID positives in Tamil Nadu with 1257 cases today. Meanwhile, a total of 1843 cases from various districts in the State has been recorded for the day.

With 44 deaths today, the overall death numbers rose to 479.

As per the State health bulletin, three cases have been reported today in Coimbatore bringing the district tally to 180. With two and three cases reported in Tirupur and The Nilgiris districts, the tallies there have risen to 117 and 17, respectively.

On the brighter side, 797 patients have been discharged across the state post recovery. The total of patients who have been treated successfully and been discharged stands at 25344.
