"Media personnel are rendering yeoman service during the pandemic," lauds DMK Chief MK Stalin

"In a time of fear and foreboding, due to the rising global COVID-19 pandemic, the media personnel are rendering yeoman service to the community. As COVID-19 keeps spreading in India and touching new heights, especially in Tamil Nadu, the media personnel are risking their lives to provide timely, reliable, fact-checked news and government notifications to the public", commended MK Stalin, DMK leader, on Monday.

Chennai: "In a time of fear and foreboding, due to the rising global COVID-19 pandemic, the media personnel are rendering yeoman service to the community. As COVID-19 keeps spreading in India and touching new heights, especially in Tamil Nadu, the media personnel are risking their lives to provide timely, reliable, fact-checked news and government notifications to the public", commended MK Stalin, DMK leader, on Monday.

Addressing the media through an online video call, DMK President, MK Stalin released a video in his party's official page. In the 30 minute long video, the opposition leader lauded the exemplary efforts of the media in keeping the public apprised of the unprecedented situation.

"While it is critical for the media to continue operation even during such testing times, I urge the reporters and all involved in the media industry to follow all COVID preventive norms, without fail. Under no circumstance, safety should be compromised", he advised. He also recalled the media personnel who were affected by COVID, while on duty.

The opposition leader in the video detailed out date-wise alleged mishaps by the ruling AIADMK government and how their ineptness has contributed to the outbreak in Tamil Nadu, especially Chennai. Alleging that the outbreak in Tamil Nadu is a result of the continued ill-management, ineptness, lack of transparency and the bad temper of the ruling AIADMK government, he requested it to set aside its ego and focus on saving the lives of the people who are stuck in panic.
