Viduthalai Siruthaigal petitioned the Coimbatore district collector to provide sanitiser for free to the public
Coimbatore: Viduthalai Siruthaigal submitted a petition to the district collector requesting that sanitizer be provided either for free or at a nominal cost to the public.
The Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi Tholilalar Viduthalai Munnani members submitted a petition stating that the government has advised people to use sanitizers to keep themselves protected from the coronavirus infection, which has landed may underprivileged people in a tight spot due to affordability issues.
They added that since sanitizers are expensive the government should either make it in state owned firms or provide the sanitizer at nominal rates for public use. The petition was filed under the leadership of Sokath, the party organizer for Coimbatore district, demanding that the central and state governments provide the antiseptic to people by producing it in their respective localities and distribute for free or sell it at the production cost.
