Five patients from Coimbatore GH were positive for COVID-19, today. Additionally, 7 others who underwent testing also turned out to be positive. A total of 12 COVID-19 cases have therefore been reported in the district today.
Coronavirus spread has been increasing rapidly in the state and is still intensifying. Meanwhile, the disease has started to spread at an alarming rate in Coimbatore too.
The details of the affected are as follows:
Five patients admitted at the GH for treatment reported positive for COVID-19.
A 68-year-old male from Udayampalayam
A 19-year-old female from Tirupur
A 32-year-old woman from Virudhunagar
A 74-year-old woman from Rathinapuri, Coimbatore
A 42-year-old man from Thekkalur
Similarly, seven people who travelled into the district and tested positive for the disease include:
Four members of the same family that travelled from Delhi to Coimbatore
A 60-year-old man
A 26-year-old man
A 50-year-old woman
A 5-year-old girl
Passengers who arrived via flights to the city and tested positive for the virus include:
A 47-year-old woman from Erode
A 21-year-old woman from Virudhunagar
A 31-year-old man from Sankaran Koil.
The single-day COVID-19 tally ballooning to 12 cases in the district shows that the virus has started to pace itself rapidly again here to the shock and dismay of the public.
