The streets of Coonoor are getting increasingly crowded of late. Many shops have been built on encroached lands and on the sidewalks of roads. The district administration has been receiving constant complaints about these encroachments.
Under the orders of the District Administration, the Coonoor Municipal Commissioner and authorities surveyed the area. They concluded that the shops have been built on encroachments. Following this, the Municipality decided to demolish them. Authorities informed that will be removed on the stretch from Mount Road to Bedford.
