"Nine people admitted to the Coimbatore GH for treatment have been tested positive for COVID-19 and have hence been moved to the ESI Hospital for treatment", informed the Hospital Dean Kalidas.
"Out of the nine patients, five of them belong to Coimbatore, three are from Tirupur and one patient is from Virudhunagar. All of them have been transferred to the ESI hospital for COVID-19 treatment", he added.
He informed, "Four pregnant women admitted into the labour ward of the GH have also tested positive for COVID-19. The labour ward has therefore been closed down temporarily. A total of 52 people including doctors, nurses and other medical staff who were involved in labour and surgeries have been isolated as a result of this. They will be divided into two groups and will be tested for the virus."
