Coimbatore: A snakebite victim courageously caught the snake that bit him and put it in a bag and took it along with him when he went to the Government hospital to receive treatment.
Soundararajan of the Kallimadai area in Singanallur works as a painter. When he went to visit his friend in the Sowripalayam area, a cobra entered into one of the neighbouring houses.
Soundararajan, who was in an inebriated state, tried to kill the snake and was bitten in the process. Following this, he caught the snake and put it in a bag and took it along with him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital, where he went for treatment.
The GH staff were shocked to see a live snake being brought into the hospital. The snake was then shown to the staff on duty and returned to the bag that remained with the security and promptly given away to Forest Department staff who let it out into a wooded area.
Soundararajan is now being treated at the GH.
