Bharatgas facilitates LPG cylinder booking through Whatsapp and online payments

Bharat Petroleum (BP) gas cylinders can now be booked through WhatsApp and be paid for through online services such as Paytm, BHIM,UPI, Amazon or PhonePe.

Coimbatore: Bharat Petroleum (BP) gas cylinders can now be booked through WhatsApp and be paid for through online services such as Paytm, BHIM, UPI, Amazon or PhonePe.

Currently LPG booking is done by customers through their phone numbers registered at the agency by calling them. The payment is made when the cylinder is delivered to the customer at their doorstep. There is a lot of delay in getting the call across to the agency. Further answering the IVRS questions by pressing one or two is also tricky for some customers.

To avoid such hassles and due to the impact of the rising COVID-19 cases, the BP Ltd. has introduced a new WhatsApp booking service. Payment for the LPG cylinders can be done online. By doing so, physical transactions can be avoided thereby reducing the risk of spread.

To use this new service the Smartline number of BP 1800 22 4344 should be used and the following need be done.

1. From the registered phone number the message 'HI' or 'HELLO' should be sent to the Smartline number for which an immediate response will be generated.

2. Following this the message '1' or 'BOOK' should be sent as a reply by the customer and booking will be done immediately and confirmation will be sent.

3. Later the online payment link will also be sent. Using Paytm, BHIM, UPI, Amazon or PhonePE, the transaction can be completed.

The hassles experienced during a phone booking and the time delay and physical exchange of money can thereby be avoided.

The BP has now been going door to door to canvass this new service and detailed instructions are being stuck on gas stoves.
