Coimbatore: A part of Bommanampalayam at Vadavalli has been isolated due to three positive COVID-19 cases in the area. The area is under the scanner of the Health Department.
On June 8, a 27-year-old man who returned from Chennai to Bommanampalayam at Vadavalli tested positive for COVID-19. Following this he was admitted at the Coimbatore ESI hospital for treatment. His relatives who were in contact with him have also been quarantined. His mother and eight-month pregnant sister also turned positive today following which they too have been admitted for treatment.
The 27-year-old man had reportedly been roaming around the entire area after arriving from Chennai.
As a result, the area has been sealed by the Health Department authorities and cops have been deployed for protection.
The Health Department also plans to conduct 200 tests a day in the area in the days to come, informed authorities.
