Women's self-help group in Tirupur alleges microfinance company flouts COVID-19 RBI norms; petitions district collector
Tirupur: A women's self-help group women has filed a petition demanding action against a finance company that is forcing borrowers to pay their loans.
A private finance company in Anupperpalayam, Tirupur has provided loans to women in the self-help group in Tirupur. Allegedly, the company has been putting undue pressure on its customers for EMI dues.
The women who have availed loans from the said company complained to the district collector today that it is continuously demanding payment of loan installments and is levying hefty fines for non-payment, although the RBI's COVID-19 SOPs have made it clear no installments need be paid for six months due to the lockdown.
