Coimbatore: Three more people have been tested positive in Coimbatore for COVID-19 on Wednesday With new cases reported everyday, the total count in Coimbatore has rose to 169.
Coimbatore: Three more have tested positive for COVID-19 in Coimbatore on Wednesday. Among the positives is a 24-year-old pregnant woman. With new cases being registered consecutively for the past few days, the total in Coimbatore has risen to 169.
No new cases have been reported in Tirupur and the Nilgiris districts.
Cases in Coimbatore:
Patient 1: A 25-year-old pregnant woman from Kovaipudur. She tested positive when she went for a routine pregnancy check to a private hospital. She is being treated at ESI Hospital.
Patient 2: A 24-year-old female from RS Puram travelling from Chennai to Coimbatore. Admitted to a private hospital.
Patient 3: A 34-year-old man travelling to Coimbatore from Chennai for business purposes. Admitted to a private hospital.
Tamil Nadu:
The phenomenal increase of COVID positive cases in recent times has made people wonder if community spread has already begun. With today's alarming surge, the tally of Coronavirus cases in the state stands at 36,841 with 326 deaths.
Chennai continues to top the positive chart with 1392 cases today.The increasing number of people losing their lives to the deadly virus has caused panic amid the public. Notably, the deaths of young patients with no comorbidities and media reports alleging that the actual number of COVID deaths are being hidden has caused a wave of concern.
The State reported 19 deaths today. Notably, the tally includes the demise of DMK MLA Anbalagan (62) who succumbed to the virus today after suffering from respiratory distress.
Meanwhile, bringing respite to people, 1008 patients were discharged today after successful treatment and as of today, 19,333 patients have fully recovered.
