The All India Farmers association stated that the Central government has been involved in bringing about various laws and amendments that are farmer unfriendly.
Themembers demanded revoking of the Essential Commodities Law amendment 1995, Agricultural Products Business Promotion Ordinance 2020, Farmers Price Guarantee and Farm Services Contract Ordinance 2020 and the Electricity Revision Act 2020 and staged a protest in front of the Tirupur District Collectorate.
During the protest, in spite of the police intervention, they burnt a copy of the constitution that led to the arrest of more than 20 farmers.
