Man self-immolates to death on being denied money for alcohol
Man who self-immolated after being denied money for alcohol succumbed to the injuries.
Thirunavukarasu (52), a resident of Ganapathy Ramaswamy Mudaliar Road, was working as a painter.
He reportedly had a drinking habit and on June 5 had asked his wife Amsaveni money to buy alcohol. When she refused to part with the sum, a disappointed Thirunavukarasu poured kerosene all over himself and set fire. Saravanampatti police have filed a case on a complaint lodged by Amsaveni.
Thirunavukarasu was admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital with grievous burn injuries, but succumbed early this morning.
