Coimbatore: After three more were reported to have contracted the novel Coronavirus in Coimbatore on Tuesday, a mother-son duo returning from Chennai tested positive here, last night.
According to reports, the duo of a mother and her 4-year-old son returned from Chennai on Sunday night to their apartment at Aavarampalayam Road in Peelamedu, Coimbatore.
On Monday, they were subjected to the mandatory COVID tests and found positive. Both were immediately rushed to a private hospital on the Avinashi Highway for treatment.
Officials from the Health and Corporation have kick-started the fumigation process in the apartments.
More people, especially travellers from Chennai and other cities, testing positive for the virus has left Coimbatoreans deeply distressed.
