Three more people, a women and two men have been confirmed to have infected with the novel Coronavirus infection in Coimbatore, today.
Coimbatore: Three more from Coimbatore, a woman and two men, have been confirmed to have been infected with the novel Coronavirus today as a result of which the COVID-19 tally for the district has leapt to 164 from 161.
One of the positives is a 35-year-old woman from Kanuvai on Thadagam road, who tested positive after she was in contact with an air traveller from Mumbai and the other one is a 29-year-old man from Vadavalli, who travelled from Mylapore, Chennai to Coimbatore via road, recently.
The third positive and one that is cause for concern is a 48-year-old man from Podanur, who visited an ENT clinic for treatment of his prolonged ear and throat pain and was recommended to undergo a COVID test, as a matter of precaution. Shockingly, his results turned positive.
The trio have been admitted at the ESI hospital for treatment and their contacts are being traced.
It may be recalled that a 19-year-old nursing student from Erode working at Coimbatore medical college hospital was tested positive on June 8. She had reportedly rejoined duty on June 5.
