Automatic sanitizer dispenser developed by TNAU
Coimbatore: The Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore has developed an automatic gadget for dispensing sanitizer.
The unit was demonstrated to the Vice Chancellor, University Officers and Heads of Departments of TNAU. Vice Chancellor Dr. N. Kumar appreciated the scientists involved in developing this unit and advised them to supply to all the offices of the University.
The commercially available battery-operated sprayer has been modified into an automatic sanitizer dispensing unit using a sensor-based circuit. The simple circuit can dispense the solution when a hand comes near the sensor.
The solution stops immediately when the hand is withdrawn. Users need not touch the dispensing unit and it can be installed in front of an office. The 15-litre capacity tank can last for a long period eliminating the need for frequent refills.
This unit will prove to be a safe and hygienic solution to the sanitizing needs of a place that sees a lot of human movement.
