Coimbatore: Aligning with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent announcements focussing on ‘Made in India’ products, Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF), Coimbatore has launched a mega data collection initiative called "India for SURE" on World Environment Day today.

Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF), Coimbatore is an association of around 500 textile manufacturing companies covering the entire value chain of Tamil Nadu textile industry including integrated, standalone spinning, weaving, processing, home textiles and apparel companies.

The Federation has stressed the need to shift our focus more towards our areas of excellence and attract the attention of stakeholders towards it. They believe that Sustainability will be the key to achieve it. With Tamil Nadu textile sector being a pioneer in achieving major sustainable goals, ITF believes the ‘India for SURE’ initiative with the concept of India as a Stable, Sustainable, Reliable, Ethical partner for sourcing Fashion Goods will make Tamil Nadu as the base for future business.

The initiative aims to establish Tamil Nadu as the most sustainable in the textile community, which will be reinforced with authentic data. The Federation believes it will create a good visibility for the state in the international textile community. With its members present across the entire value chain, the Federation has been able to create a collective interest in this brand positioning initiative and create a road-map to facilitate a Sustainability Accord – a first of its kind cluster level commitment for sustainability.

ITF firmly believes the data collection initiative will consolidate the individual excellence of its member companies into numbers that will help in quantifying our strengths in sustainability.
