Installation of biomining plant inaugurated at Vellalore Dumpyard
Coimbatore: Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development, and Implementation of Special Programme, SP Velumani, inaugurated biomining plant work at Vellalore dump yard on Friday.

The project is being carried out at a cost of 61.11 crores and would help civic bodies with disposal of solid waste in an eco-friendly way. The yard sees dumping of 1000-1200 metric tonnes of solid waste as a result of which underground water in the area has been affected. The bioming plant will go a long way in rectifying this.
Launched after the National Green Tribunal issued an order, the project is expected to be completed within 24 months.

Coimbatore City Corporation Commissioner, J Shravan Kumar, Deputy Commisoner S Prasanna Ramasamy, City Engineer A.Lakshmanan, South Zone Assistant Commissioner R Ravi among other officials were present at the inauguration.
