Nadukani near Gudalur has been declared as an isolated zone when a woman returning from Chennai post the release of the lockdown on May 25 tested COVID-19 positive tested positive for COVID-19. She has been taken to Coimbatore for treatment.
The families in the area are isolated and being monitored by the medical department. The Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya discussed the status of area with the health department. The officials informed that the affected woman was recovering well and that there has been no spread of the disease in the Ponvayal village. Further, they also informed that none of the family members of the woman had contracted the disease.
Following this, the families were provided with relief supplies of rice and vegetables by the District Collector, on behalf of the government.
The Gudalur RTO Rajkumar, Tahsildar Sangeetharani, Pandalur Municipal Commissioner Leela Simon, and health and revenue department officials were present during the distribution.
