COVID-19: Confusion prevails over positive cases cases in Coimbatore; 1384 cases in TN

Coimbatore: The contradicting reports by the State Health bulletin issued today has left the Coimbatoreans puzzled, as the positive COVID-19 cases has slipped from 161 to 153.


Coimbatore: Contradicting figures in the State Health bulletin issued today has left Coimbatoreans puzzled as the positive COVID-19 cases in Coimbatore mentioned today are 153 as opposed to yesterday's 161. 

Meanwhile, the state continues to show a steady upward trend of positives with the highest single-day count of 1384 today.

On June 3, after 9 new cases were added (4 from the district and 5 travelling from other states/countries), the positive count in Coimbatore district stood at 161. However, today's report shows the same to be 153, which has left the denizens of Coimbatore wondering as to the status of the positive patients who disappeared from the list.  

In Tamil Nadu, reflecting a possible community spread, the total soared to 27256 after 1384 new cases were reported today.

Chennai continues to top the charts with a 1072 positives today taking the tally there to 18,694.

With 12 persons succumbing to the virus today, the COVID-19 death toll in the state leapt to 220.
