Coimbatore: Nine new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Coimbatore, on Thursday. The total count in Coimbatore has increased from 153 to 161.
Coimbatore: Even as the state is reeling with the gigantic leap to the highest single-day count of 1286 positives, 9 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Coimbatore, on Wednesday. The total count in Coimbatore has increased from 153 to 162.
Of the nine new positive cases in Coimbatore, 4 are from the district while the remaining 5 are returnees travelling back to the district from other states and countries.
As of today, there are 15 active cases in Coimbatore, under treatment at ESI hospital. No new cases have been reported in Tirupur and the Nilgiris.
Although 610 were successfully discharged after treatment, 11 patients succumbed to the virus.
Chennai continues to top the charts with 1012 positives reported for the day.
The general public are advised to adhere to health and travel advisories issued by the state Government. With religiously following the cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief/towel while sneezing and/or coughing, the public should also wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
