The Nilgiris: DMK MP A Raja who arrived from Chennai to Ooty has been quarantined for seven days.
MP A Raja who often visited his constituency and addressed the issues of the people in the area before the COVID-19 lockdown stayed back in Chennai due to the closure of district borders that accompanied the nation wide lockdown.
Now that the lockdown has been eased from June 1 he obtained an E-pass from Chennai and arrived at the Coimbatore airport. Here his blood and sputum samples were collected for COVID-19 testing. Later he travelled to Ooty by car and reached his house on Hill Bunk.
As soon as he reached his house, A. Raja quarantined himself in a separate room.
The Health department has also insisted that he should be isolated for seven days since he had arrived from Chennai.
