Stressing the importance of rainwater harvesting, the Postal Department has released post cards with the statement, "Neerindri amaiyaadhu ulagu," meaning "the world cannot exist without water." The cards have been released in order to raise awareness regarding this important mission. These post cards were presented to the Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar by the Post Offices Senior Superintendent Dr. Sudhirgopal Jakhere. The event took place at the main office of the Coimbatore Corporation.
This type of Meghdoot postcards released by the Postal Department sell fast. While the regular ones are priced at 50 paise, the Meghdoot postcards are sold for 25 paise.The Meghdoot cards are also special in that they are used to raise awareness regarding health, social, environmental issues, etc.
