Air India flight carrying stranded Indian citizens from Dubai to land at Coimbatore International airport
Coimbatore: Air India Express flight carrying more than 150 stranded citizens from Dubai is scheduled to land at Coimbatore international airport tonight.
In order to bring back Indian citizens stranded at various foreign countries, the central government is operating 'Vande Bharath' special flights. One such Air India Express flight from Dubai is scheduled to land at Coimbatore international airport in the wee hours tomorrow.
According to sources in Coimbatore Airport, "this is the first special flight to land at Coimbatore International airport. Actually it was scheduled to land on June 2, nut due to slot constraints at Dubai International airport, the flight has been rescheduled to land around 1:00 a.m."
“More than 150 passengers will be coming in this special flight. Exact number of passengers and other details will be given tomorrow. All the passenger's were tested before boarding the flight. After landing at Coimbatore international airport, all the requisite norms will be followed as per the guidance provided by the government,” sources said.
After passengers to Coimbatore disembark, the flight leave for Chennai.
