The list of today's positives comprises 5 from Palakkad district, 15 from Malappuram district, 10 from Alappuzha district, 9 from Kasargod district, 8 from Kollam district, 8 from Thiruvananthapuram district, 6 each from Kottayam, Thrissur and Wayanad districts, 5 each in Kozhikode and Kannur districts, 3 from Ernakulam district, and 1 in Pathanamthitta district.
So far as the travel histories go, 46 have come back from abroad (Kuwait-21, UAE-16, Saudi Arabia-6, Maldives-1, Qatar-1 & Oman-1) and 26 are returnees from other states (Maharashtra-9, Tamil Nadu-7, Karnataka-5, Delhi-3, Gujarat-1 & Rajasthan-1). Twelve people, including a health worker in Palakkad district, were infected through primary contacts.
The sample of a deceased 77-year-old Christian priest who was undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for respiratory illness turned out to be positive.
Meanwhile, 19 patients who were undergoing treatment tested negative today taking the discharge tally to 627 while 774 are still under treatment.
A total of 1,47,010 are under surveillance in various districts out of which 1,45,670 are under observation either at their homes or institutional quarantine centres while 1,340 are isolated in hospitals. A total of 200 persons were hospitalised today.
Over the past 24 hours, 2,421 samples have been sent for testing. Samples of 71,068 individuals (including the augmented samples) have been sent for testing so far and, of the available results, 67,249 have been confirmed as negatives.
Apart from this, as part of Sentinel Surveillance, 15,101 samples have been collected from high-risk priority groups such as health workers, migrant workers, people with high social contacts out of which, 13,908 have tested negative.
Till date, 1,43,989 people have arrived in Kerala from other states and countries - 1,06,218 by road, 25,832 by flights, 10,318 by trains and 1,621 by ships.
