Pretending to buy cigarettes, youth snatches chain from a woman grocer in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Police are on the lookout for a young man who snatched a gold chain from a woman grocer. Ramachandra Bose hails from Kuniyamuthur, Coimbatore. He and his wife Bhagwati run a grocery store in the area.
A youth visited the shop yesterday evening and asked Bhagwati, who was alone in the store, for cigarettes. When she turned to fetch them, the man snatched her gold chain and fled the scene with his partner waiting in a two-wheeler.
The Kuniyamuthur police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the culprits.
