Miscreants involved in serial robbery nabbed: cellphones worth 7 lakhs seized
Coimbatore: The main culprit involved in serial robbery in Palladam has been nabbed. Police seized cell phones worth Rs 7 lakh from him.
Sangeetha Mobiles in Palladam, headquartered in Bangalore, is operating on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway. A few days back, unidentified men broke into the store and stole mobile phones.
Meanwhile, the incident recorded in surveillance camera was viewed by security personnel in the head office and the Palladam store's sales manager Pratap was informed who lodged a complaint with the Palladam Criminal Investigation Department. Investigations were begun based on the surveillance camera footage. Subsequently, on the orders of District Superintendent of Police, Diksha Mittal, a team comprising Deputy Superintendent of Police, Palladam, Murugavel, Palladam Police Inspector Sujatha, SI Senthilprabhu, head constable Mathivanan, Sethuraman and Raja were investigating the case.
Meanwhille, cops led by Inspector Sujatha were conducting routine vehicular inspection in Panapalayam in which a youth was taken into custody based on suspicion.
The youth was identified as Mubarak Ali (27), who hails from Thudiyalur, Coimbatore and is the main accused in 28 cases in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts. It was also revealed that he was the one who broke into the Palladam Sangeetha Mobiles. Police seized 27 cell phones worth Rs 7 lakh from him.
