Coimbatore: With a whopping 938 positive COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the total count in Tamil Nadu has reached 21,184. Amid the spike in cases on a daily basis, 687 people infected with COVID-19 and treated at various districts in the State have been discharged.

Chennai continues to top the charts with 616 cases on a single day. The total of positives in Chennai stands at 13,980. Not responding to treatment, six people have succumbed to the deadly virus, which so far has claimed 160 lives in the state.
According to the State health bulletin, 4,79,155 samples have been tested. While 21,184 have tested positive, 4,57,405 were negative. Testing of 566 samples are under process. A total of 21,922 samples are repeats.
The number of positive patients who have been discharged following treatment so far stands at 12,000 making the count of active cases under treatment 9,021.
The general public are advised to adhere to health and travel advisories issued by the state Government. Public should follow the cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief/towel while sneezing and/or coughing. They also should wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
