The police received information regarding the body of a youth who appeared to be strangled to death lying in a pit on the Sirumugai Sakthi road. Periyanaickenpalayam Sub Inspector Mani and the Sirumugai police rushed to the spot and investigated the corpse. They conducted investigations with the people in the nearby areas.
It was revealed during investigation that the dead person was Subramani (30), a resident of the Pungar Post area, Seesal Kuttai, Bhavani Sagar in Erode district. Further it was also revealed that he was the driver of the Fish Hunting Prevention patrol vehicle in the Bhavani Sagar Dam. He is married to Amsaveni.
The police retrieved the corpse of Subramani and sent it to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for post mortem. The police have also filed a complaint and are investigating the case.
A special team has been formed to conduct the investigation under the orders of the District Police Superintendent Sujith Kumar. The special team will be led by the Periyanaickenpalayam Sub Inspector Mani and the various police under his leadership will investigate the case.
The police are trying to ascertain whether he was strangled at the spot and died or if he was strangled elsewhere and his dead body was dumped into the pit later on. Identity of the killers and the reason for the crime is also being investigated by the special team.
