Customers lay siege to Bajaj Finance Office at Race Course for violation of RBI norms

The Bajaj Finance Corporation office at Race Course saw a throng of infuriated customers who demanded an explanation as to why the company is demanding loan repayment and collecting fines from the ones not able to pay their monthly installments.


Coimbatore: The Bajaj Finance Corporation office at Race Course saw a throng of infuriated customers who demanded an explanation as to why the company is demanding loan repayment and collecting fines from the ones not able to pay their monthly installments.

Due to the pandemic, the RBI has given a time extension on repayment of loans. Allegedly, Bajaj Finance does not comply with the RBI norms. On top of demanding repayment of loans, the company also inists on levying fines for delayed EMIs. On the wake of this, many angry customers laid siege to the company office today and got into arguments with the employees.



Additionally, many customers who have been burdened with double fines by both Bajaj Finance and the banks that the customers hold accounts with and pay EMIs through. Customers charged the company regarding this too.

There was also an additional grievance on part of customers who had settled their previous loans with the finance company.Many in this category have been pressurised to to pay fines too. They gathered at the company with relevant documents to clarify the issue.

Owing to this, tension prevailed in the Race Course area for more than two hours. The police who arrived at the spot advised the employees to not gather a crowd at the location and asked them to settle the issue amicably and disperse the crowd.
