Case filed against two monthly magazine reporters in Coimbatore for assaulting each other

Coimbatore: Two monthly magazine reporters assaulted each other at the District Collectorate today. Following this, the reporters filed cases against each other at the Racecourse police station.

In recent times many people are out to collect news in Coimbatore, calling themselves magazine reporters. It has become a daunting for the authorities to ascertain their identifications.

This being the case, Gilmore, editor of Agni Kathir, a monthly magazine,published a news article regarding a reporter, Jaisingh, calling him 'a reporter who works at a different magazine each month'.

When Jai Singh came across Gilmore at the District Collectorate this morning, an argument about the article in question ensued, which soon turned into fisticuffs. It is alleged that Jai Singh attacked Gilmore.

Consequently, both of them lodged complaints against each other at the Racecourse police station. The police are investigating the cases.

This incident of reporters assaulting each other at the District Collectorate was frowned upon by the employees at the Collectorate.
