Petition filed in Tirupur against cancellation of free power to farmers
Tirupur: A petition has been filed today at the Tirupur district collector's office on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association, urging the government not to cancel free electricity for farmers.
In their petition, they urged the state government to not implement the central government's electricity bill amendment 2020, which cancels free electricity for the farmers.

On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Farmers Protection Association and the Farmers'and Workers' Union in Tirupur, they also demanded to cancel the Tatkal fee of Rs.20,000 levied on new electricity connections and immediate electricity connection for farmers who have been made to wait for years.
