The Nilgiris: Following a 21-year-old woman returning from Chennai to Coonoor testing COVID-19 positive, another, a nurse coming to Gudalur from Chennai, in the Nilgiris, registered a positive today.
According to reports, the woman is a nursing staff at a private hospital in Chennai. She had returned to her village Ponvayal in Gudalur, recently. On being subjected to COVID-19 testing, her results were positive.
The district administration has containment for 300 families who are living in the vicinity. Accordingly, parts of Gudalur, Ponnur, Ponvayal and Kaithakkoli have been declared as quarantined zones.
