The COVID-19 lockdown has been in place for more than two months now and most of the workers in Tirupur have been left jobless and are facing a lot of struggles due to this. In these testing times, house owners of the worker tenants are demanding they pay rent causing, which has left many in a quandary.

State Assistant General Secretary Ramesh, State Minority Division President Mansoor and a few other executives of PMK therefore petitioned the Tirupur District Collector regarding the issue and requested him to intervene and take action against those who are demanding rent from the tenants.
Similarly, they also submitted that industrialists and workers should not be forced to repay the bank loans at the present time as extensions have been granted for the payment of monthly installments.
