Women self-help groups in Tirupur petition against private finance firms.
Tirupur: Women's self-help groups in Tirupur have filed a petition with the district collector alleging that private financing companies charge extra interest against the loans provided to the groups.
Government has issued an order that borrowers from banks and financial institutions do not have to repay the debt for three months due to unemployment as a result of the curfew across India over the last 2 months.
In this case, the women's self-help groups filed a petition at the Tirupur district collector's office today alleging that micro-finance companies who have given loans to the women's self-help groups in Tirupur insist on paying the outstanding amount and demand extra interest too.
