Higher Secondary public exam evaluation centers in Coimbatore undergoing COVID-19 precautionary measures; evaluations begin on May 27
Coimbatore: Higher Secondary exam evaluations will begin on May 27. Many additional centers are being set up as part of COVID-19 precautionary measures.
In Coimbatore district, the evaluations for the higher secondary public exams scheduled to begin at three camps in March 2020 have been rescheduled to commence on May 27, 2020. Including the 8 new evaluation centers, a total of 11 have been formed to enable so as to properly follow the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines set by the Tamil Nadu government.
A total of 3,200 teachers, 200 office staff, 375 Chief Examiners, 375 Scrutiny Officers and 2,250 Assistant Examiners will be involved in evaluation at the 11 centers. Various precautionary measures are being undertaken at these centers.
Preparations for maintaining the sanitation of the place including cleaning the classrooms and the school campus and spraying of disinfectants twice a day, cleaning the toilets four times a day, and other sanitary measures are being initiated through the District Administration/Corporation/Municipality/Town panchayats/ local governing bodies, the health department and the education department.
The government is also enabling ease of access to the evaluation centers for the 1,650 teachers with 74 buses to be operated by the Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporation in 44 routes. A coordinator will be there in each of the buses to take care of the transportation
As part of the COVID-19 preventative measures at the evaluation centers, plans have been made to provide the teachers and other staff with face masks, disinfectants and hand soaps. To maintain social distancing in the center, each room will consist of a total of 8 people, including 1 Chief Examiner, 1 Scrutiny Officer and 6 Assistant Examiners.
A six-member group has been formed for each evaluation center to observe the COVID-19 guidelines that have been made mandatory by the government such as use of face masks, disinfectants and hand soaps. The team will include physical training directors and teachers, NCC coordinators and Indian Scouts Brigade coordinators.
The COVID-19 preventive measures will also be continuously monitored by a team led by the District Collector. The team comprises the Chief Educational Officer, District Educational Officers, Revenue department officials and Health department officials.
The evaluation centers for Coimbatore District will include camps at Pollachi, Coimbatore and S.S. Kulam. The camp at Pollachi will be functioning at P.K.D. Matriculation Higher Secondary School and includes the additional centers at Siwalik Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Subash Matriculation Higher Secondary School and B.V.N. Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
The Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School camp at Coimbatore includes the additional centers at Avila Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sindhi Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Nehru Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
S.S. Kulam camp will include additional centers at Brilliant Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Manchester International School.
